Saudi Arabia, Oman Boost Ties, Address Trade and Regional Security Issues

Oman and Saudi Arabia have strengthened their partnership by pledging to enhance bilateral cooperation during recent high-level discussions. Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to assess the progress in their nations’ relations and to explore opportunities for further collaboration in crucial sectors such as the economy, investment, logistics, and trade.

The talks also encompassed regional and political issues of joint interest, with both ministers emphasizing the importance of closer coordination on shared priorities. In an extended meeting that included senior officials from both sides, discussions were centered around initiatives within the Joint Omani-Saudi Coordination Council. These conversations highlighted the alignment of Oman Vision 2040 and Saudi Vision 2030 and encouraged increased private sector engagement to bolster economic integration.

Additionally, the dialogue addressed recent developments in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring the strategic significance of this vital waterway for global commerce and energy security. Both nations underscored the necessity of reducing regional tensions and avoiding further escalations, while also supporting diplomatic efforts to ensure safe and free maritime navigation.
