Xi and King Abdullah II Discuss Commitment to Two-State Solution

In a recent meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated China’s commitment to a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Xi stressed the urgency of resuming peace negotiations and the swift establishment of an independent Palestinian state. He highlighted the necessity of a comprehensive ceasefire, the protection of civilians, ongoing humanitarian aid, and a political resolution grounded in international law.

Xi underscored the importance of upholding the principle that Palestinians should govern Palestine, which includes governance over the West Bank and the reconstruction efforts in Gaza. His remarks emphasized China’s supportive stance toward a peaceful and sustainable resolution to the longstanding conflict.

Beyond discussions on the Middle East peace process, President Xi and King Abdullah II explored avenues to bolster the strategic partnership between China and Jordan. The leaders expressed mutual interest in expanding cooperation across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, and transportation.

In addition to these discussions, the talks also covered advancements in digital technology, artificial intelligence, and green energy. As a result of their meeting, several cooperation agreements were signed, marking a commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
