Muscat Hosts 2026 AMEA Oman, Uniting Downstream Petroleum and Logistics Sectors

Date:

The downstream petroleum markets in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa are experiencing shifts in supply patterns, trade routes, and a growing need for flexible logistics networks. In response to these dynamic changes, Petrosil is set to host the seventh AMEA Bitumen, Base Oil and Logistics Convention & Exhibition in Muscat on November 23, 2026. This event, known as AMEA Oman 2026, will be held at the Radisson Collection Muscat, Hormuz Grand, marking Petrosil’s inaugural industry gathering in Oman after organizing over 20 events in cities like Dubai, Bangkok, and Mumbai since 2012.

The convention aims to bring together a diverse group of participants, including producers, refiners, traders, blenders, lubricant manufacturers, additive suppliers, wax producers, and logistics providers. With over 25 sponsors and exhibitors already confirmed, the event seeks to foster new partnerships and supply-chain solutions across the region. Muscat’s strategic location, with access to maritime routes connecting the Middle East to the Indian subcontinent, East Africa, and Asia, underscores Oman’s growing significance in regional trade. The nation’s ports and logistics infrastructure play a crucial role in facilitating transportation and impacting the economics of downstream petroleum products like bitumen and base oils.

Bitumen markets, closely tied to road construction and infrastructure projects in emerging markets, face evolving supply conditions influenced by refinery operations and international trade flows. For instance, India has seen an improvement in domestic bitumen availability by increasing local production and utilizing alternative crude sources. Across the AMEA region, companies are exploring diversified sourcing strategies and alternative transportation routes to manage supply risks effectively.

The convention will also delve into the markets for base oils, lubricants, additives, and waxes. These products are vital for various industrial applications and are affected by changes in refinery economics and trade flows. Logistics considerations, such as vessel availability, freight costs, and terminal access, have become central to the commercial planning of these markets. The event will place logistics at the forefront, offering insights into shipping, storage, and supply-chain resilience.

Key areas to be discussed at AMEA Oman 2026 include bitumen supply and demand, base oil sourcing, additive procurement, and wax distribution. This gathering will provide a platform for companies to explore new suppliers, customers, distribution partners, and logistics relationships across the region. Scheduled for November 23, 2026, this event marks Petrosil’s first venture in Oman, aiming to address the interconnected challenges and opportunities within the downstream petroleum sector.
