On Thursday, Oman and Germany engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing their bilateral relations and maritime security cooperation. The meeting took place at Al Murtafa’a Camp, where Oman’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Mohammed Nasser Al Zaabi, hosted German Foreign Office State Secretary Dr. Géza Andreas von Geyr and his delegation.
The primary focus of the talks was to review the existing cooperation between the two nations and explore issues of mutual interest. These discussions reflect a shared commitment to strengthening ties and addressing regional security concerns.
In addition to the diplomatic talks, the German delegation visited Oman’s Maritime Security Centre. Commodore Abdullah Ali Al Hajri briefed the visitors on the center’s key responsibilities, which include monitoring maritime conditions, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation.
The delegation was given a comprehensive tour of the center’s facilities, which highlighted the advanced technologies, equipment, and operational systems in place to bolster maritime security and enhance emergency preparedness. This visit underscores Germany’s interest in collaborating with Oman on maritime security initiatives.
The meeting and subsequent tour illustrate the ongoing efforts of both Oman and Germany to foster a cooperative relationship that addresses both diplomatic and security concerns, signaling a shared commitment to regional stability and the safety of maritime activities.
