Oman and Tanzania are actively seeking to enhance their trade and investment ties, with the goal of fostering new business partnerships between the two countries. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently engaged in discussions with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and members of the business community to explore potential areas for collaboration.
The talks centered around expanding economic connections, identifying investment opportunities, and promoting private-sector partnerships. Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, highlighted the importance Oman places on its economic relationship with Tanzania, viewing the East African nation as a significant partner with strong investment potential.
During the meetings, the Omani delegation emphasized the advantages of Oman’s strategic location, developed infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, which supports international investors and facilitates long-term business collaborations. The discussions also covered the prospects for Omani companies to increase their presence in African markets and for Tanzanian businesses to explore investment opportunities in Oman.
Both sides agreed on the need for enhanced communication between government bodies and private-sector representatives to effectively develop joint projects. This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand its economic partnerships across Africa and to build on its longstanding ties with Tanzania.
