Oman and the United States are seeking to enhance their economic relationship, focusing on expanding trade, supporting Omani exports, and attracting American investments. This development follows discussions between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States during a recent visit to Oman.
The meeting concentrated on reviewing the trade office’s achievements and devising future plans to tackle challenges while seizing opportunities for deepening economic ties. Specific topics discussed included strategies to boost Omani product access to the US market and identifying new avenues for trade cooperation.
Trade between the two nations has been growing, with bilateral exchanges reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Oman’s significant exports to the US include chemicals and aluminium, whereas the US primarily exports vehicles and transport equipment to Oman.
These discussions are part of a broader effort to strengthen the economic partnership between Oman and the US, aiming to create a more balanced trade relationship and increase foreign investment in Oman’s economy. The continuous dialogue between both countries underscores the mutual interest in enhancing economic collaboration for mutual benefit.
