Spider-Man Brand New Day Writes New Chapter in Film History With First Billion-View Trailer

Date:

A new chapter in Hollywood’s promotional history has been written by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, whose trailer is the first in the world to exceed one billion views. The trailer was released on March 17, and WaveMetrix confirmed the historic total of 1.1 billion by Tuesday — just four days later. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker has become the face of the biggest trailer event in cinematic history.

On its very first day, the trailer registered 718.6 million views — twice the amount needed to set a new single-day record. The prior benchmark of 365 million had been set by Deadpool & Wolverine’s Super Bowl teaser in February 2024, while No Way Home’s trailer had generated 355.5 million in its opening day. Grand Theft Auto VI’s 475 million views, a widely celebrated entertainment record, was also outpaced with ease.

The total crossing one billion views is a media milestone that transcends the superhero genre. It speaks to the fusion of global fandom, digital media consumption, and emotional storytelling that Spider-Man has come to represent. Brand New Day’s trailer performance is a once-in-a-generation event.

The film releases July 31 as part of MCU Phase Six and the fourth chapter in Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, it stars Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando. Indian fans can enjoy it in six languages including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.

The trailer shows Peter Parker navigating a world without his identity, still finding the will to be a hero. Fan reactions were overwhelming, with heartfelt and humorous alternate titles trending across platforms. With one billion views and a July 31 release ahead, Brand New Day is positioned to be the defining film of the MCU’s latest phase.
