Oman Launches Program to Boost Youth Skills in EV and Green Transport

Date:

The third edition of a youth training initiative in Oman has successfully wrapped up, with a focus on electric vehicle technologies and sustainable transportation solutions. The “Electric Vehicle Experts” (EV-Pro) programme, which took place from July 19 to August 27, brought together 35 young participants from various universities and colleges across the nation.

This intensive programme offered training on several key aspects of the electric vehicle industry, including technologies, charging infrastructure, network planning, and vehicle maintenance and operations. In addition, participants explored the economic advantages of electric vehicles and their potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Workshops within the programme addressed environmental challenges and imparted sustainability principles, aligning closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The participants were also involved in activities designed to encourage the development of practical solutions tailored to meet local environmental needs.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by Oman to bolster sustainable transportation and work towards achieving carbon neutrality by the year 2050. By equipping young minds with the necessary skills and knowledge, the programme aims to foster innovation and support the country’s environmental objectives.
